Formonide 0.5 mg Respules 2ml may be unsafe to use during pregnancy.Animal studies have shown adverse effects on the foetus, however, there are limited human studies. The benefits from use in pregnant women may be acceptable despite the risk. Please consult your doctor.

Lactation

Formonide 0.5 mg Respules 2ml is probably safe to use during lactation. Limited human data suggests that the drug does not represent a significant risk to the baby.

Driving

Formonide 0.5 mg Respules 2ml may make you feel dizzy, sleepy, tired, or decrease alertness. If this happens, do not drive.

Kidney

Formonide 0.5 mg Respules 2ml is probably safe to use in patients with kidney disease. Limited data available suggests that dose adjustment of Formonide 0.5 mg Respules 2ml may not be needed in these patients. Please consult your doctor.

Formonide 0.5 mg Respules 2ml should be used with caution in patients with liver disease. Dose adjustment of Formonide 0.5 mg Respules 2ml may be needed. Please consult your doctor.Use of Formonide 0.5 mg Respules 2ml is not recommended in patients with severe liver disease as the data available in these patients is very limited.

Uses of Formonide Respules
Formonide 0.5 mg Respules 2ml is used in the treatment of asthma and chronic obstructive pulmonary disorder.

How to use Formonide Respules
Use this medicine in the dose and duration as advised by your doctor. Check the label for directions before use. Twist off the top of the respule/transpule and squeeze all the liquid into the nebulizer. It should be used right away after opening.

How Formonide 0.5 mg Respules 2ml works
Formonide 0.5 mg Respules 2ml is a combination of two medicines: Formoterol and Budesonide which work well in worsening asthma or COPD. Formoterol is a long-acting bronchodilator which works by relaxing the muscles in the airways and widens the airways. Budesonide is a steroid which stops the release of certain natural substances that cause inflammation (swelling) in the airways. Together, they make breathing easier.

Side Effects:

Common Nausea, Vomiting, Respiratory tract infection, Pharyngitis, Hoarseness of voice, Fungal infections in the mouth, Bronchitis, Cough, Headache, Sore throat, Musculoskeletal (bone, muscle or joint) pain.

Expert advice for Formonide Respules
It contains two medicines in one inhaler for control of long term asthma and COPD symptoms. It does not relieve sudden symptoms. Always use a rescue inhaler to treat sudden symptoms. Tell your doctor immediately if your breathing problem worsens, or if rescue inhaler does not relieve symptoms. Do not discontinue unless advised by your doctor. Rinse your mouth with water after each use to prevent infections in the mouth and throat. Carry your rescue inhaler wherever you go.
